Introduction Here is the flow of OAuth protocol if you are interested to know more about:Relay Me is a free Android application that forwards incoming messages to your email inbox. You won't miss incoming text messages if you have left you phone back at home. It is available for installation in Google Play. Check the pro version for more features. How It Works Relay Me listens for incoming text messages and forwards them to an email address you have provided. It requires an email gateway (well, an SMTP server to be precise) which is also configured by you. You are redirected by the application to your email provider's website so that you give it permissions to send emails on your behalf. Upon arrival of a text message you will shortly receive an email in your mailbox with this subject: [Relay Me] SMS From 0123456. We only supports GMail at the moment, but more service providers will be supported soon. Security This application is built with security/privacy of users in mind. There are a few notes worth mentioning here:
Privacy Relay Me needs to know the email address used to send out emails, also the target email address if different. It also keeps details of recent SMS messages in order to display in the log and retry should an error occur. All information mentioned here is kept locally and can be deleted at any time by clearing application data. What's Next? There will be support for other major email service providers, as having an android phone doesn't imply a GMail account. There will be an upgrade of OAuth protocol to the newer version, once major service providers support it for SMTP.
